About The Role
Siltbuster is looking for a dynamic and experienced Proposals Manager to oversee the development of robust, technically sound proposals and tenders, ensuring effective governance and alignment with operational delivery.

As the ideal candidate will have a strong commercial understanding of proposals for technical solutions, from initial conception to handover to the Sales Team. You will report the Commercial Director and initial key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the development of technical proposals and tenders, ensuring quality, and alignment with client requirements whilst being commercially focused
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to Solutions Engineers, ensuring robust and practical engineered solutions are developed in line with client and operational requirements
- Provide and maintain clear guidance for effective product selection across routine rental and sales activities
- Lead the technical review and assurance of proposed treatment solutions, ensuring design integrity, risk considerations, and compliance with applicable standards and company governance processes
- Undertake/lead on initial contract review on tenders and bidding activity, liaising with legal counsel as appropriate
- Lead technical engagement with Clients during tender and design activities, providing confidence in proposed approaches and delivery capability
- Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring robust quality control procedures and reliable, timely service delivery output
About you

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the water-environmental sector, with practical and positive outlook. Proven experience within the water and wastewater treatment industry is essential, with a strong expertise in process design and engineered solutions. Excellent leadership skills managing and developing a high-performing, technical engineering team is required.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Degree qualified &/or experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering)

Significant experience in water and wastewater treatment, with strong expertise in process design and engineered solutions

Proven track record in leading and delivering complex technical proposals and tender submissions from concept through to award

Demonstrable experience reviewing and assuring technical solutions, including design, costing, and risk considerations

Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Projects to ensure solution feasibility and delivery alignment

Exposure to technical governance, standards, and approval processes within an engineering or proposals environment

Experience supporting or mentoring engineers, with the ability to provide technical guidance and oversight

Strong understanding of commercial considerations, including cost estimation, whole life cost, and value-driven solutions

Working knowledge of relevant regulations, environmental compliance, and industry standards within the water sector

Experience of laboratory or testing environments (desirable)

Knowledge of contract forms (e.g. NEC) and bid processes (desirable)

Full UK driving licence
