About The Role
In order to Ensure the delivery of compliant and timely reporting to internal customers and stakeholders, Selwood are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support our Pump Sales & Plant Hire financial team and business unit with a range of regular and ad-hoc key financial tasks. This role will be on a fixed term contract basis of 9 months.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role will support the business units to grow and maintain the businesses core values.
 
This role is based at our Head Office in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire
 
Responsibilities of this role:
  • To review and provide accurate and timely management information on the monthly performance of the Hire Division Branches. 
  • Assist Management accountant with qualitative and quantitative information to support them in achieving BU targets and objectives
  • Identify anomalies within the provisional accounts and take corrective action during the preparation of the management accounts
  • To prepare weekly reports on the performance and key performance indicators. 
  • To prepare monthly journals to reallocate costs in the monthly management accounts.
  • To assist the Management Accountants in any ad-hoc reporting required by the BUB management team
  • To reconcile and review balance sheet control accounts.
  • To assist in setting the plans for the future years.
  • Assist in forecasting on a rolling 4-months basis.
 
Qualifications & Skills
               
  • Challenging approach to work (looking to drive improvements through an understanding of root causes  and how they can be effectively implemented)
  • Strong planning, time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt own approach and priorities in line with changing business needs / priorities
  • Part qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW)
  • Working in the private sector for mid-sized business 
  • Strong communication skills
 Competencies:
  • Capability to define and manage own priorities
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence across all levels within the business
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced level of use of Excel and data analysis tools
  • Strong planning, time management and attention to detail

This role covers Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week.
