About The Role
To complement our teams and to continually drive quality through our division we are inviting applications for the position of Quality Manager.
 
The focus of the Quality Manager will be to support the customer, production and engineering teams in managing and delivering product quality focusing on reducing product non-conformance and improving the level of product ‘Right First Time’. The role will lead the creation and implementation of the best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures as part of the Management Team.
 
 
Main Responsibilities:

Duties for the Quality Manager will be wide ranging and varied. Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for the line management of the manufacturing Inspection team – including performance management, task delegation, professional development and day to day support. 
  • Formulation and management of KPIs that monitor and measure the business performance in relation to Quality metrics.
  • Accountable for Introducing Control plans and inspection criteria are complied with including inspection methods and equipment. 
  • Maintenance of departmental compliance to procedures and processes including periodic review/audit for compliance and the making of any necessary amendment in a timely manner. 
  • The development of both individuals and the team to improve working efficiency and performance.
  • Responsible for the timely processing of non-conforming product is maintained within the defined procedures for non-conformance reporting.
  • Drive investigations into incidents of reported process failure/product-non-conformance.
  • Deployment of appropriate quality problem solving tools to be utilised to establish the Root Cause and ensure preventive actions are in place to prevent reoccurrence. 
  • To generate reports and presentation packs other information as required by line management on monthly basis. 
  • The completion of set objectives, standard/ad hoc tasks, projects or activities to agreed targets, as set by Director of Engineering 
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits. 
  • Communication of any Quality Alerts to team to ensure any issues are fully understood.
Qualifications / Competencies:
       Essential:
  • A demonstrable background in leading and managing teams.
  • Good quality driven background in a manufacturing/engineering environment, preferably in rotating machinery.
  • Understanding of the inspection of parts and finished products to engineering specifications and drawings

    Desirable:

  • Experience of CI methodology and tools & Experience of DMAIC methodology
