About The Role

The Bournemouth branch and our team of skilled Plant Fitters are inviting applications for a Yard person to support the branch operations.
This branch is a busy location which services, maintains and repairs our Plant equipment from our hire fleet. The work of a Yards person will be varied and will consist of working both inside the workshop and outside within the yard where the Plant equipment is housed.

It is essential for this position that the successful candidate can demonstrate a motivated "can-do" attitude.

Responsibilities of this role;

  • To keep the yard and workshops in a clean and tidy state at all times.
  • To assist with loading and unloading of vehicles, checking against paperwork, missing, damages and fuel charges.
  • To maintain hose and accessories storage, to include keeping a check on levels available.
  • To assist fitting staff when required, with tasks as instructed, i.e. lifting, moving, in depot or on-site.
  • To clean hire equipment prior to entry to workshop, using pressure/steam-cleaning equipment.
  • To be polite and co-operative with staff/customers, and, when on-site, be aware of promoting the Company.
  • To be able to communicate accurately to your supervisor, work colleagues and customers re job specifications when required e.g. ETA’s and missing and damaged items, obtaining signatures and names when delivering/collecting.
  • To undertake the delivering of plant equipment to our customers sites by towing to site to include loading and off loading.
  • To comply with all PPE requirements for Selwood or site regulations.
  • Carry out all given tasks as set out in the Company Policy Procedures as applicable.

Qualifications / skills required:

  • Holder of a full UK driving licence including a towing licence (Essential for this role)
  • Due to the nature of this role, the successful individual must be physically able.
  • Good communicator, able to work autonomously demonstrating a "can-do" attitude.
  • Holder of a Forklift driving certificate is advantageous for this position.
  • Full driving licence
