About The Role
As part of our ongoing committed to the development of individuals we are delighted to offer an Apprenticeship, which will run in conjunction with the NVQ in Plant Maintenance, and will be supported by our Edinburgh team who hold a wealth of expertise within our field.
 
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual to gain a strong industry qualification whilst being supported with practical on the job training on our fleet of both diesel and electrical pumps.
 

        Position Purpose:         

  • To complete an apprenticeship in Plant Maintenance and NVQ level 3 (diploma)

  • To actively put into practice workshop and college based knowledge and learning in order to service, repair and maintain a range of plant, pumps, small tools and ancillary equipment.

    Requirements:                       

    Previous experience or a keen interest in engineering, mechanical or a similar industry.             

    Scope of responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, service or preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by the Foreman to the standards and timescales required
  • Carry out work in compliance with recommended manufacturers’ procedures.
  • To understand, interpret and work to the relevant instructions and technical information available.
  • To communicate accurately with immediate supervisor, work colleagues and customers alike
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area, on both Selwood and customer sites.
  • Ensure understanding of customer's regulations prior to entering sites, and maintain compliance at all times.
  • Promote the Company at all times in a professional, customer-focussed manner.
  • Keep small tools and equipment in good condition, store in correct place when not in use, report defects to Branch Manager.
  • To comply with all PPE and Environmental regulations and requirements.
  • To ensure all Company QHSE procedures are complied with.
  • Carry out all given tasks as set out in The Company Policy procedures.  Those applicable to be detailed by your Branch Manager.

           Additional Requirements

  • To attend college in accordance with college and CITB requirements and complete your learning log and college work to the required standard and deadlines. 
  • College attendance may be day release or block release so nights away may be required.
